On Saturday we ventured outside to enjoy the 40-something degree day! We made some snowmen (and a snow dog) and Andy and Max did a little sledding in the back yard. It felt great to soak up a little sunshine!

Fun day with Dad
Andy, Max and I had a great day today! Andy took the day off and we headed up to the Mall of America for some fun at Nickelodeon Universe! We spent most of the day on rides with a quick break for lunch!
A stop at Lego Land.
The Carousel - always a favorite!
The surprisingly fast, and jerky car ride. Once was enough for dad and Max!
A ride on the choo, choo train!
Driving the big rig!
Balloon ride!
Max's favorite was a little mini roller coaster! He and Andy went on that ride four times. Max was really into it! He had a big grin on his face most of the time.
A little bus just big enough for Max!
We also hit the arcade, had a few treats and stopped at one store to shop. All in all it was a great day and we all left tired and happy!

Finally - A nice day!
Max and I were so happy to get outside to play a little yesterday! We were out there for nearly an hour and a half! He still didn't want to come in after that! We're hoping to get a little sunshine today too...but I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon so who knows if it will happen. We thought we better appreciate the weather before it gets cold again tomorrow.
Andy was cleaning out his dresser drawers the other day and found an old pair of Electric Mustard Oakleys! Too funny! The fit Max pretty well though!

Fish News...Baby News
Max got his first pet today! We took Max to Pet Expo to pick out a fish! Andy named it Sonja. It's just a little beta fish but we thought it would be fun for Max. Now that we have the fish at home I wonder just how long it will take for Max to kill poor little Sonja. Hopefully we can keep him from digging her out of the bowl, feeding her cookies, etc...
Getting the bowl ready for Sonja.
Max is getting ready to feed Sonja.
Very excited about our pet!
Feeding Sonja.
Dad and Max watch to see if Sonja will eat her food.
We're 34 weeks along this week! We made it past the 33 week mark! Yeah! We met with the doctor that will be doing our c-section last week and the date is set for February 16, 2009. We're so excited to have a day planned. Hopefully the little one will be patient enough to wait that long since the due date isn't until February 21.
I've been meaning to get our 3-D ultrasound pictures online since we had the second ultrasound done on December 16. My scanner isn't working so tonight I finally just took a picture of the ultrasound photo. Sorry if it's a little fuzzy. The other picture is an early picture of Max. I feel like baby number two already looks like Max and Andy. That might be kind of crazy, but the picture of newborn Max and the ultrasound picture of the new baby definitely have some similarities, i.e. eyes, nose, cheeks and mouth.

Food for a Toddler
So I'm at a little bit of a loss with how to get Max to eat some vegetables. He's pretty willing to try stuff...he just doesn't like anything. I keep trying to reintroduce veggies without forcing it...but I've decided that I need to get a little creative instead.
I have the Deceptively Delicious cookbook by Jessica Seinfeld. Today I tried some banana bread that actually uses cauliflower as one of the ingredients! We'll see what Max thinks of it after his nap. Anyway, I decided that I'll try a few things in the cookbook for our lunches together when dad isn't home. Andy said he'd try any of the concoctions as long as he was informed of all strange ingredients. Even though he seems supportive of my efforts, he still would prefer not to partake so we'll spare him the experimental food.
Wish us luck!

Andy's Debut
Andy on KEYC - Jan 5, 2009
Andy was on KEYC-TV last night talking about low mortgage interest rates. All I could find was the text of the news story. The website used to have video clips as well. Oh well! Click on the link above for the story!

Getting Ready
Make shift family picture from last night!
The closest thing we got to a smile for the pictures!
Not much new to report on the Nessler Front. We're trying to get ready for the next baby! This is week 33. Kind of crazy since Max was born at 33 weeks. I was a little off about our timing before. Thought we'd already made it past 33 weeks. I guess the second time around it's easier to forget where you're at in the pregnancy. I'm generally a lot less obsessive about it although still every excited.
We're trying to talk to Max more about the baby. He rubs my belly and gives it kisses. Andy is working on a boys name we can both agree on. Our girl's name has been picked out for a while. We ordered a double stroller the other night. That was a big to-do! I was trying to make sure we picked the right stroller and was hung up between two different models.
I've already been working on cleaning baby clothes, blankets, etc... I did a little shopping and bought some new bottles. I also bought a jumbo pack of diapers and wipes. I seem to remember going through A LOT of little diapers!
Today I actually started washing all the car seat, booster seat, bouncy seat liners, etc... Now Andy will have to help me figure out how to get everything back together!
All in all baby #2 is a little easier to get ready for!
On Thursday we meet with the doctor that will be performing the c-section. Hopefully we'll schedule a day for the c-section at that time!
